SMASH REPAIRS
Q: Do you have Courtesy Cars?
Yes, we currently have 2 small automatic vehicles to keep you on the road
whilst your vehicle is being repaired.
We do not charge a fee for this service although you are responsible for the cost of fuel, tolls, infringements and damage/excess during the time you have the courtesy car.
Please note: the usual waiting time for an available courtesy car is 2-3 weeks.
Q: Do you do work for my insurance company?
Yes, we are happy to work with all insurers.
Due to the new legislation, you as the insured, can 'choose your own' repairer.
Any insurer who attempts to steer you to one of their recommended repair shops may be in breech of the current legislation.
Q: I've had an accident, what do I do now?
If your car is safe to drive, bring it down to obtain a quote and we will provide you with all the information you need to lodge a claim.
Q: Do you charge for quotes?
In some circumstances a quote fee of $50.00 will apply.
Please call us to see if you qualify for a free quote.
Please note: we are not able to do 'home quotes' for general smash repairs at this time.
Q: How do I lodge my claim?
Most insurers have a claims hotline you can call.
AAMI: 132244
Allianz: 131000
A&G (Insurers Hotline):1300 139 591
GIO: 131446
NRMA: 131123
Shannons: 134646
QBE: 1300 361 516
Real Ins: 1300 301 618
Q: Who do I pay my excess to?
We collect any applicable excess on behalf of your insurer when you collect your repaired vehicle.
Q: How much will it cost to fix my scratch?
Unfortunately we cannot estimate what needs to be done without viewing the damage to your vehicle.
If your car is safe to drive, bring it down and we will be happy to work out a detailed estimate.
Please note: In some circumstances a quote fee will apply.
Q: How long will it take to fix my car?
Each repair will vary depending on what needs to be carried out, we find the average accident repair takes 3-7 working days.
RESTORATION
Q: How much will it cost to restore my car?
Each restoration vehicle requires its own unique repair process.
After sighting the vehicle we can estimate a cost based on what needs to be carried out for each individual vehicle.
Q: How soon can you book my car in?
As most restorations take time we need to limit how many cars we have here at any one time. Restoration work is usually booking at least 6 months ahead.
Q: Can I do some of the work myself?
Absolutely, many of our clients remove and replace all the hardware and trims themselves.
If you chose to do this it's a good idea to label all parts and attach loose clips to make it easy to put back together.
This is a good way to keep the cost down as we only charge for what we do.
Q:
Once my car is in the workshop,
how long will the repairs take?
Mike prefers each stage of the paint process to cure.
Allow a minimum of 4 months for the paintwork.
Depending on the remove and replace and repairs required and any necessary sourcing of parts,
the usual time frame for restorations is around 12 months.
